Heilsa is a human factors consultancy built for safety-critical industries.

Your people operate under pressure — balancing safety, productivity and real-world demands every shift. When things go wrong, the cost is more than financial. We help safety-critical organisations manage the human side of risk - with practical, evidence-based solutions that deliver real outcomes.

Human factors integration. Fatigue risk management. Done properly.

For more than 14 years we’ve partnered with rail, ports and the extended supply chain to optimise human performance and reduce human error at a system level.

From industry. For industry.

WHAT WE DO

& why it matters

We bring the human element into the design of complex, safety-critical systems. From concept through to in-service operations, we integrate human factors into engineering, operational and business systems - reducing risk, improving usability, and supporting regulatory confidence.

Human error isn’t random. It’s shaped by design, workload, environment and expectation. Understanding that relationship is what we do.

We design systems that support people to perform under pressure - reducing error through design, not reliance on perfect performance.

The transport and logistics industry operates in demanding and high-consequence environments. Our role is to make sure that the people within those systems are design for - not designed around.

Practical human factors. Real-world performance.

OUR APPROACH

Efficient

Targeted on-site engagement, supported by effective remote delivery - minimising disruption, maximising value.

Effective

Proportionate. Practical. Implementable. Every recommendation is designed to work in the real work - not sit on a shelf.

Evidence-based

Built on proven human factors methods, real-world stakeholder input, and a strong understanding of the regulatory landscape.

RECENT PROJECTS

Our work covers a diverse range of projects and client groups across safety-critical industries.

We operate across operational, engineering and infrastructure environments, as well as safety and business systems - integrating human factors across the full system, from design through to live operations.

Whether the engagement is large or small, our focus remains the same: ensuring systems are designed to support how people actually work.
